Clubhouse is the new social network that is raging almost everywhere. Elon Musk is not the only one who has advertised it, but also many other international celebrities. There are already approximately 2 million active users in the USA, as well as 100 million dollars invested from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
Basically, it simplifies the complications found in other social networks as much as possible. There are no photos to take, no videos to share, no posts to write. It only requires a profile photo, a small bio to have the ability to enter a room to listen to others or to introduce yourself, telling what you want or what concerns the topic of the conversation. Imagine a real “club” in which you can create rooms to talk in, just as you would do in a house with friends or at university.
How does Clubhouse work?
Using Clubhouse is simple but easy for everyone, including those who have no prior knowledge of digital media. In Clubhouse, the suggested rooms stand out very clearly: if you tap one of them, you enter that conversation and can immediately pick up what other users are saying. Entering each room is therefore like becoming part of it, even if only by default since you cannot interact in this case, but only observe.
If the topic is of interest to you and you want to say something, just push the hand shaped button and magically you will let the moderator of the room know that you want to speak. At this point, if the moderator wishes, he will make you a “Speaker” and you will then be able to speak in the room. Members should always respect Clubhouse rules, while also respecting the moderator, who has the right to remove a speaker at any time.
Therefore, the basis on which Clubhouse was created is that of ” Rooms “. A house with many rooms where you can talk about different topics in each one. Anyone will have the opportunity to create their own room where they have the powers of a moderator. There are three different ways to create a new room: Open, Social and Closed. You can open a public room where everyone can enter freely. Where people can enter only and exclusively if invited you will have to create a Closed room and in this case, the room will not be publicly visible to others.
Rooms are displayed in a sort of vertical list on the main page, with appointments lined up at the top for those that have been programmed. Then you can see all the other rooms already active. Since each room can mention its own topic, you can easily find the most interesting one.
The invitation section. You may only enter by invitation from others who are already registered on the social network. Each new user has the option to send up to 5 personal invitations to whomever they want. ”Upcoming” is a page where the app summarizes all the rooms and conversations scheduled for the day. An agenda that makes sure you don’t miss a conversation that might interest you. Lastly, the bell that indicates the “Activity” section of the notification.
